How Digital Sphere Limited collects, uses, shares and looks after personal information in Landsight.
Last updated 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
Landsight is provided by Digital Sphere Limited, a New Zealand company (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the website and web app at landsight.co.nz and Landsight’s connector for AI apps. We follow the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. Our privacy officer can be reached through the contact form.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, organisation and role, and a password, which we store only as a one-way hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- Payments: Stripe takes your payment on its own page and holds your card details. We never see them. We keep Stripe’s reference for you, your plan, and the state of your subscription and invoices.
- What you keep in Landsight: saved properties, searches, reports, projects, designs, portfolios, documents and notes, and the contractors and team members you add.
- Property tax records: if you use them, the income, expenses, statements, documents and tax details you enter or connect, including bank feeds and Xero. Tax identifiers, documents and connection details are encrypted where they are stored.
- Questions you ask: what you type to the assistant and other AI features, and the documents you ask them to read.
- Messages to us: what you send through the contact, access request and investor forms.
- Technical information: your network address, browser and device, sign-ins, how much of each feature has been used, and how our public pages are used. We keep this for security, to apply each plan’s limits, and to improve Landsight.
3. How we collect it
Mostly from you directly. Some comes from someone else: from your organisation when it invites you, from Google when you choose to sign in with it, from Stripe about your payment, and from a bank feed or Xero if you connect one. Property information from public sources, such as Toitū Te Whenua LINZ and councils, is about properties rather than people. A record of title you order from LINZ can name its owners; it goes only to you.
4. How we use it
- To provide Landsight: to run your account, keep your records and produce the reports and answers you ask for.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To send the emails Landsight sends: invitations, sign-in links, shared reports, billing notices and replies to you.
- To keep Landsight secure: limiting repeated requests, detecting misuse and investigating problems.
- To improve Landsight, using information about how it is used.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. AI
Landsight’s AI features use models run by other companies, including DeepSeek, Google and OpenRouter and the model providers it reaches. When you use one, what the feature needs to answer is sent to the provider: your question, the property records involved and, where you ask, your document. Please do not put personal information about other people into a question.
6. Using Landsight from an AI app
You can connect ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or another AI app to Landsight’s public connector. It needs no Landsight account and tells us nothing about who you are: we receive what the app sends, such as an address or a search, and your app’s network address, which we use to limit requests. What the AI app does with your conversation is governed by that app’s own terms and privacy policy.
7. Who we share it with
- The people you choose: your organisation’s team, your accountant, and anyone you send a report to.
- Our service providers: the companies that host and secure Landsight, take payment (Stripe), deliver email (Twilio SendGrid), provide sign-in, maps, pictures from the street and website analytics (Google), run AI models (section 5), and that you connect yourself, such as Xero. They may use the information only to provide their service.
- LINZ: what is needed to order a record of title you ask for.
- When the law requires it: for example a court order, or a lawful request from a public agency.
- If our business changes hands: to a buyer of the business, who must protect it as this policy does.
8. Information sent overseas
Some of our service providers process information outside New Zealand, including in the United States and China. Before we disclose personal information to a provider overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it will be protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act, as information privacy principle 12 requires.
9. How we protect it
- Everything travels encrypted between your device and Landsight.
- Passwords are stored only as hashes, and the most sensitive records are encrypted where they are stored.
- Within an organisation, each person sees only what their role allows, checked on every request.
- A shared report can be withdrawn at any time.
No system is perfectly secure. If a privacy breach happens that has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable, as the Privacy Act requires.
10. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or the law requires, for example billing and tax records. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
11. Cookies and your browser
Landsight uses browser storage to sign you in and remember your settings. Our public pages use Google Analytics to measure how they are used, with advertising features switched off. We do not use advertising cookies.
12. Your rights
You can ask for the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it (information privacy principles 6 and 7). Write to us through the contact form. We will respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires, and we may need to confirm who you are first.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
13. Children
Landsight is for adults. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what we do changes, and show the date of the latest version at the top. If a change matters to how your information is used, we will tell account holders by email.
